Don't Ignore the #1 Source of Website Traffic

Let me start by asking you a question: What kind of website do you have?

The reason I ask is that the kind of website visitors you can and should attract will largely depend on what you offer to your visitors once they come to your website.

For example: If you have a website that is primarily a blog, then it’s safe to say that your main offering is information of some kind.

On the other hand, if you’re in ecommerce, you mainly offer visitors products or services they can buy directly from your site.

Or your website could be for a brick-and-mortar business – such as a hair salon or a restaurant – where your customers must come to you to receive what you’re offering.

Or your website could be for a service-type business – such as for housecleaning, roofing, or even piano tuning – where you go to your customer’s location to deliver the service you offer.

The kind of visitors you can attract to your site – no matter what kind of site it happens to be – is practically limitless.

But ask yourself this: What action do I want my visitors to take when they get to my website?

For a blog, you probably want engagement with your content in the form of comments, shares, and even subscribing to your blog, right?

But let’s face it, the goal for ecommerce is entirely different. For ecommerce the main goal is selling products.

For brick-and-mortar businesses, the goal may be to see what the business offers and entice customers to come to their location. (By the way, website visit coupon codes work great for this.)

For service-type businesses, the goal is generally for website visitors to request a free estimate, ask for more information, or just go ahead and book the service call.

As you can see, there are fundamental difference between these types of websites. And as such, there are big differences in the types of visitors you want to attract.

So before you put in the time and effort to attract more website visitors, get clear on what you most want your visitors to do when they arrive. The traffic methods you use should fit the types of visitors you want and the actions you want them to take.

It’s kind of like finding a pair of gloves that not only look good but fit properly and are durable enough to last.

But did you know that there is one best way to attract visitors?
It’s a website traffic method that will work for all types of websites and all types of visitors. Plus, no matter what action you most want your website visitors to take, this traffic method will be fit like a perfect pair of gloves.

Here it is:

Search Engine Traffic.

I know, I know. It may not be what you want to hear. Because, let’s face it, Google traffic isn’t the easiest type of traffic to get.

But the reason it isn’t easy to get is precisely the reason you want to get it.

Look at it this way:

People use search engines like Google to find solutions to their problems. They type in what they’re looking for and instantly there are thousands (sometimes even millions) of possible solutions listed – mostly in the form of websites they can visit.

I’ll level with you: Most people will not scroll down the list too far. In fact, the only websites that have any real chance of getting visited from this listing are the ones on the first page of the search results.

What happens to all the other thousands (or millions) of website listings?

They don’t get the clicks. And they don’t get the website visitors.

But who cares, right? Since there are other ways to get website visitors, why in the name of all that is holy would you bother with search engine traffic.

Well, it’s like this:

Yes, there are other ways to get website visitors. Lots of ways.

But none of the other ways is as good – in fact, not nearly as good – as attracting visitors to your website who are actively searching for a solution to their current problem that you can provide them with.

Think about it.

Don’t you want website visitors who are already highly motivated to find a solution to their current problem? A problem that you just so happen to be able to solve for them?

It’s a no-brainer!

I’m not saying you shouldn’t use other methods of attracting visitors to your website. But all those other ways combined do not add up to the impact that Google traffic can have for your website.

Don’t believe me? The numbers speak for themselves.

Go ahead and google: “What percentage of website visitors come from search engines” and see what you get.

According to several sources I found, well over 50% of TOTAL website visitors come JUST from organic search engine results!

So yeah, that’s more than all the other types of website traffic combined.

Yes, getting website visitors from Google traffic can be tough. So you could just go after some or all of the others sources of traffic and simply ignore the search engines, right?

Well yes, you could. But if you do, you’re leaving a lot of gold unmined. Especially considering that visitors coming from search engines are the most highly-motivated website traffic of all.
There’s gold in them thar hills!

But you’re going to have to take your pickaxe out and start digging. And that times time, effort, as well as the know-how to get the job done.

We can help. Just drop us a line or fill out the form on our website here to learn how we can help you mine the search engine traffic gold for your business.

Written Text: The “Crown Prince” of Content

Your website can be the prettiest thing on the internet, but if the content is poor, then it doesn’t matter what your website looks like. I’m not sure if you’ve heard the expression “content is king”. It sounds kind of hokey, doesn’t it? Because, let’s face it, people just don’t read like they used to, so you wouldn’t think that content – especially the written word – would be all that important. Rather, it seems much more plausible that website visitors would appreciate visual stimulation a whole lot more than long passage of written material. All true, but there are several factors that you may not realize. First of all, not all website content comes in the form of written text. Website content can be in any medium (including, but not limited to videos, images and yes, text). What makes any medium “content” is if it helps to inform and educate your website visitors as to the purpose of the website and what you have to offer your visitors (in the form of products, services, informatio...

The Golden Ratio

Besides do-follow and no-follow backlinks, there is another set of factors to keep in mind. Let us explain. For starters, whatever type of backlink is pointing to your website, it will have what is sometimes called citation flow. Citation Flow Citation flow is concerned with the sheer volume of links back to your website and the value of each of those links. The flow indicates that there is some linking “juice” going from that website to yours, sometimes even if the link is a no-follow. (Although many no-follow backlinks have zero citation flow.) Of course, do-follow links will have much more citation flow than no-follows. Considerably more. What you want from citation flow is a lot of valuable “juice” flowing to your website. But you also want something else. Something else that is a little harder to come by. A very special something called trust flow. Trust Flow Trust flow indicates how influential a website is. You definitely want as much trust flowing to your website as possible th...
