That’s why we’re going to use Google as an example here because it is undeniably the biggest, most well-known search engine there is.
Okay, so just what does Google want from the website information it collects and organizes? Just one big thing:
Google wants the best service for its users.
They do this by giving their users the highest quality, most relevant results they can for any and all searches conducted.
This is a tall order. Think about it?
There are literally millions of websites online. So how the heck does Google know which websites are any good – let alone the best – and which are, well, crap?
That’s why we’re going to use Google as an example here because it is undeniably the biggest, most well-known search engine there is.
Okay, so just what does Google want from the website information it collects and organizes? Just one big thing:

Google uses a web-crawling software called Googlebot to scan the internet looking for digital documents to add to its collection – its searchable index. When these “bots” visit your website, they scan or “crawl” everything they find, including all the words and pictures, all the tags, codes, navigation. Everything!
Doing so, the Googlebot gets an idea what your website is about – what its purpose is and what its subject matter is. They add this information to their index and see how it stacks up to other websites with the same purpose and subject.
The more information they have – from your website and others like it – the better they are at delivering more relevant results when a person googles for certain topics using specific keywords.
So it’s the job of all SEO professionals – including us here at Big Blue Sky Internet Marketing – to make sure that your site ranks high in Google for keywords and phrases that are relevant to the topics you cover and that are used by the people who search online for what you provide.
