Let’s face it: The coronavirus pandemic has changed things. Changed a lot of things. Including what is now – and what will be in the future – considered to be “normal”.
All of us will have to get used to a new normal, whatever that looks like.
And that’s part of the problem. Adjusting to a new normal when we don’t know what that “normal” will be. But we can guess.
I’m guessing that the new normal will probably involve a lot more working from home. And if my guess is correct, that means that more people than ever will be able to access whatever information they want, when they want. Especially online information.
To stay competitive, it will be vital for businesses to have a website. But not just any old website.
Companies that are successful online position themselves so that they’re right in front of their prospective customers. They find out where their best clients are hanging out online – for example, what social media platforms their best clients use regularly – and they make sure that these people see them there too.
But even more than that, businesses that are successful online make sure that people who are searching for the products and/or services they offer will find them.
That means having a business website that ranks high in the search engines, especially Google.
So let me ask you something: How well is your business website ranking?
If it’s not listed on page 1 in Google search for your niche and location, people searching for what your company offers will NOT find you.
Guess what? If they don’t find you, they won’t visit your website. And if they don’t visit your website, they won’t know that you and your business have the best solution to the problem they’re currently dealing with.
What will they find on page 1?
Your competitors. The competitors, who may not be as good as you are at what you both do.
But hey, they’re there, right in front of your customers’ eyes. So they will get the clicks. Clicks that bring your best clients to them instead of to you.
So when it comes to doing business online, it doesn’t matter if you have the best offer in town for the kind of services you provide.
Success online goes to the companies that position themselves to be noticed by people searching for a solution.
So you’d better get up there.
You’d better get your company ranking on page 1 of Google if you want to make the most of your beautiful business website and be competitive – really competitive – in the online marketplace.
Because like it or not, your competitors are doing so right now. They’re getting found on the search engines (especially Google), they’re getting the website visitors, and they’re getting the orders and booking the appointments.
Even if their offering isn’t nearly as good as yours. Even if they don’t offer the best solution or have the best customer service, like you do.
Not fair, I know. But that’s the way it is. Time to face it head-on and do what needs doing to stay competitive in the online marketplace.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject. So, whether you agree with me or not, please leave a comment.
